Semi-automatic models do not require power

Installation requirements, connections, clearances and technical drawings

Installation	Whole house / point-of-entry installation
Installer	Installation by a licensed plumber in accordance with AS/NZS 3500.1.
Connections	Connect to the main water supply to the property. A pressure limiting valve must be installed upstream of the appliance. Install backflow prevention where required. Regeneration discharge must connect to a sewer or suitable deep drain, not stormwater.

Install the softener after any water pressure pump and after any sediment pre-filtration. The regeneration drain line must discharge with an air gap and must not be directly extended. The overflow drain must be connected separately and must not be joined to the regeneration discharge line.

Filtration Performance	Ion exchange treatment reduces water hardness by exchanging hardness minerals through the softening resin. Salt is used during regeneration to recharge the resin and remove accumulated hard-water salts.

Treatment capacity depends on the volume of water being treated and the hardness of the incoming water. Automatic models monitor water usage and regenerate when the preset capacity is reached. Semi-automatic models require regeneration intervals to be determined according to water usage and hardness.

Softener capacity and regeneration frequency vary according to incoming water hardness and water usage.

Ion exchange resin and gravel are supplied separately for loading into the media vessel. Softening resin is supplied pre-regenerated. Salt is required for operation and regeneration.

Installation of this system must be carried out by a licensed plumber in accordance with the Plumbing Code of Australia (PCA), AS/NZS 3500 (all relevant parts), and any applicable state or local regulations.
